Daniel "Dan" Wobbrock, age 62, of New Richland, MN, passed away on Sunday, December 21, in his home, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Dan was born January 24, 1963 in Owatonna, MN. Shortly after he turned 17, he enlisted in the army where he would serve for a couple of years, including some time spent in Germany. He often spoke of his regret for not staying in the Army and had great respect for those who served.
Dan married Joyce (Kelly) Wobbrock on October 27, 1984 at the Little Brown Church. They met while playing pinball. Joyce was playing pinball and asked Dan for a quarter and the rest was history. They were married forty-one years and had four children. Dan (aka papa) lived for his nine grandchildren. They brought him so much joy.
A man of many talents, Dan worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, from construction, masonry, welding, truck driving, car repair, and more. He was never one to be idle and could always be found tinkering outside or in the shop. In his youth, Dan was also quite the craftsman and was a skilled woodworker.
Eventually, when he could no longer work in a shop, he liked to go on long walks with his dog Albeena, play games on his tablet, and give Joyce a hard time about the garden. Dan was an avid hunter, outdoorsmen, and off-roading enthusiast who taught his kids to enjoy and respect nature.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, bonus parents, his mother- and father-in-law, and a couple of good friends. Remaining to cherish Dan's memory are his wife, Joyce; children Gary (Liz), Kyree (Arthur), Mickey, Cody (Ellie); the grandchildren: Jason, Matthew, Addison, Julieann, Brysen, Jessa, Thea, Novalee, and Tobias; multiple beloved brothers and sisters-in-law; and several extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Friedrich's Funeral Home, 217 West Division Street, New Richland, 56072. Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. with Deacon Bob Yerhot officiating.
