Competitive cheerleading takes 3rd at state

On February 1 the NRHEG competitive cheerleading team attended their state competition. However, their weekend started on January 31 at the MCCA awards banquet. The entire team received an academic award for having one of the highest GPAs in the state. This was an honor to the team because it showed that they not only are fully committed to cheerleading, but also to their school work. Other members of the team also received various awards. The team's only senior, Sierra Misgen, was selected to be on the All-State Competitive and Sideline team. She also was awarded the Outstanding Cheerleader award shortly after the team's performance. Madison Bouge and Olivia Berg were also selected for the All-State Competition team. After a night full of events and awards, the team had to prepare for the day ahead of them. The team's semi-finals performance was at 1:05. Our team had shown all of the hard work that this entire season has taken. They had scored well, which meant that they were able to advance into finals. This performance was not until 7:45, so the team had some time to bond and think about what they could do to further improve their score. This was when they knew that they had to give their all because this was the last time that everyone would perform together. So our cheerleaders pushed themselves to success. At awards later that night, our team was awarded third place. These girls worked very hard at every practice. And all of the work paid off as they brought their season to an end.
