Dangers of driving, how crashes happen

Last Friday, the school had an assembly that taught us about the dangers of driving and how crashes happen. Multiple kids throughout the day wore signs that said different ways that people have died, gotten injured, or hurt someone else in a car crash. In the assembly, they talked about their signs and how they got into a car crash, and they talked about how you can prevent it. There was a mock crash where they set up two cars outside and made it look like an actual crash and then showed us what would happen if you got into a crash like that and the injuries you would get with the crash. A police car, two ambulances, and two fire trucks came and took the people who were injured in the crash and showed us the process of helping them and then bringing them to the hospital. They put one who “died” in a body bag and they sprayed the car with water. They taught us this because a lot of deaths are caused by car crashes and they want to prevent this. This week, there are dress-up days that were picked by the cheerleaders leading up to the homecoming game and dance on Friday. There are activities every day that the student council picks out beforehand, and that we participate in every morning. On Monday, the theme was country versus country club and most of the kids dressed up as country. There also was an assembly that day where the homecoming court played games against each other after they introduced themselves. The teachers joined in and then, later, anyone could join. On Tuesday, it was Hawaiian day. There was also an assembly where there was a volleyball tournament with about five different teams. On Wednesday, it was pajama day, and there were multiple games in the assembly. There were teams for each grade and each grade had a captain, who chose five people for the team. Each grade competed against each other in tug of war, finding cards, etc. Juniors ended up winning the contest. The school is also competing in the Hunger Games, where each grade can earn points for the games that they win in the assemblies. Juniors are winning, freshmen second, and then seniors. On Thursday, it’s color wars day, which is, each grade gets their own color. On Friday, it's panther pride day.
