Happy Homecoming

NRHEG Homecoming week 2024 concluded last week with a week full of activities, themed dress up days, coronation, and parades coming to a close Friday.

 

Tuesday evening, Harbor Cromwell, son of Mike and Nikki Cromwell, alongside Mallory Schlinger, daughter of Matt and Tanya Schlinger were crowned King and Queen.

 

Serving as the night’s Emcee’s were Adalyn Staheim and Chloe Reiwer.

 

Together the homecoming candidates were introduced, along with a list of their activities, which will follow at the end of this article.

 

Students’ week was busy with various observances, including a trip to Ellendale for the parade route on Friday. The homecoming court also helped serve lunch to elementary students. Dress-up themes included: “Country vs. Country Club,” “Tacky Tourist Day/Hawaiian,” “PJ Day,” “Color Wars,” and of course, “Panther Spirit Day.”

Parades concluded the afternoon activities Friday. The football team played and dominated in a 43-8 win over Medford, which was followed by a student dance.

NRHEG Homecoming Royalty

Tayla Sandry is the daughter of Sherri and David Sandry. She has two younger siblings: Reid and Addison. She enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with friends. Tayla is involved in the National Honor Society. Her favorite memory from high school so far is Homecoming Friday every year! One fun fact about Tayla is that she is a resident of Canada. If she had a time machine, she would travel back to last week when she was in the Dominican Republic. Her hero is Mr. Ferber because he survived driving with her brother. Tayla plans to attend college for a degree in early childhood education.

 

Harbor Cromwell is the son of Nikki Cromwell and Michael Pederson. He has one sister, Winter. He likes to spend time fishing, golfing, bingo, and eating food. Harbor is involved in football, wrestling, track & field, student council, DECA, FCA. His favorite memory from high school so far is joining football Freshman year. One fun fact about Harbor is that he can do a backflip. If he had a time machine, he would travel back in time to meet Jesus. His hero is Christian McCaffrey because he has great work ethic and he's his favorite running back. After high school, Harbor plans to go to college and own a big house.

 

Mallory Schliner is the daughter of Matt and Tanya Schlinger. She has two older sisters; Aubrey and Syndney Schlinger. Mallory is involved in Volleyball, FCA and Luther League at her church.  She enjoys hanging out with friends and family and doing new things outside and lots of new activities. Her favorite memory from high school so far is when Dylan Fleming got beat up by two different girls, two years in a row. One fun fact about Mallory is that she is scared of the dark and Chloe SQUARED. If she had a time machine, she would go back to the day that she was born because she always wanted to know what it's like when a legend is born. Mallory’s hero is her Grandma Kris, and says “She is the strongest person I know, and no matter what she may be going trough, she always manages to put us grandchildren first, and she would do anything for us.” After graduation, Mallory plans to attend a four-year college and get a bachelor's degree, but she is undecided on where to go or what degree.

 

Jayden Fleming is the son of Curt and Jenna Pederson. He has two brothers: older brother Dylan and younger brother Mason. Jayden is involved in football and clay target shooting. He enjoys spending time hunting and fishing. One fun fact about Jayden is that he likes hunting. His favorite memory from high school so far is freshman year sport events with the seniors. If he had a time machine, he would go back in time to see if his uncle's rabbit crazy stories are true.  Jayden’s hero is Rogers Sporting Goods; he always gets a good deal there. After high school, Jayden plans to go to trade school in South Dakota.

 

Violet Elise Aronson is the daughter of Cassie Hill and Micah Aronson. She has four siblings: Chrysantha Aronson, Bridger Hill-Aronson, Xander Hill-Aronson, and Scarlet Aronson. Violet is involved as the cross country manager and a track and field distance runner. Her hobbies include reading and learning about new things. Her favorite memories from high school are getting to know and running with everyone on the track team. One fun fact about Violet is that she has a pet bird named Angel. If she had a time machine, she would go back in time and complete this question on the Homecoming Court Bio form. Her hero is her mom because, she says, “of everything she has done to make sure my life is full of love.” Violet plans to go to college and major in chemistry.

 

Jase Knudson is the son of Kevin and Katie Knudson. He has three siblings: Brenlee, Jovey and Rafe. Jase is involved in football and basketball. His hobbies include sports and hunting. One fun fact about Jase is that his nickname is Uefferd. His favorite memory from High school so far is getting new lunches. If Jase has a time machine, he would go back in time to see if his dad’s stories are true or not. His hero is Adam Thielen because he’s an example of anything is possible. After graduation, Jase plans to go to college.

 

Hanna Brunsen is the daughter of Molly Webster. She has two younger siblings: James and Emma. Hannah enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and working toward her nursing degree. Her favorite memory from high school was meeting Jared and all of his friends in Barb’s and Liz’s office. One fun fact about Hannah is that she makes crazy good mac and cheese. If she had a time machine, she would travel to the 1970s, living out her dream of having a brand new ‘77 trans am. Hannah’s hero is her mom for “always having my back and supporting all of my decisions.” After high school, Hannah plans to get her RN, BSN, working for Mayo in Rochester.

 

Alden Dobberstein is the son of Luke and Brenda Dobberstein. He has two brothers: Alex and Evan. Alden is involved in football, baseball, trap shooting, and fishing teams. He enjoys being outside, golfing, hunting and fishing. Alden’s favorite memory from high school so far is winning the Gold Brick against Janesville last year in the freezing wind and rain. One interesting fact about him is that he loves normal cheese curds, but hates them deep fried. If he had a time machine, Alden would travel back to January 2009 to invest in Bitcoin so he could be rich. His hero is Aidan Schlaak for helping him get through all of his classes…..especially math classes. Alden is undecided about what he’ll do after graduation, but probably something in agriculture.

 

Lia Johannsen is the daughter of Dustin and Jill Johannsen. She has two siblings: Madison and Chase Johannsen. Lia is involved in Trap Shooting. In her free time, she likes outdoor activities.  Lia’s favorite memory from high school so far is being on Homecoming Court. One fun fact about Lia is that she has been to Alaska twice. If she had a time machine, she would go back to her past because she enjoyed not having to be worried about anything as a kid. Her hero is her parents because, “They have always been there for me when I needed them.” After high school, Lia plans to go to college.

 

Owen Bartlett is the son of Jason and Amie Bartlett. He has four siblings: Becca, Brett, Maddy, and Jack. Owen is involved in football, track, golfing, pickup basketball with Rick, and procrastinating from his school work. His hobbies include hanging out with friends, fishing, hunting, and playing college football 25. Owen’s favorite memory from high school so far is beating JWP in overtime with the football family. One fun fact about Owen is that he has a lizard named Blue. If he had a time machine, he would go back to the start of 7th grade to play one more football game with everyone who isn't here anymore. Owen’s hero is his mom, he says, “for everything she has sacrificed for me.” After high school, Owen plans to attend college and play football.

 

Sierra Misgen is the daughter of Mark and Sara Misgen. She has six siblings: Payton, Markus, Makota, Preston, Makenna, and Amelia. Sierra is involved in cheer, track, cross country, and National Honor Society. In her free time, she likes to spend time sleeping, shopping, and traveling. Sierra’s favorite memory from high school so far was letting Mr. Ferber use her sunscreen and then his face turned purple from it. One fun fact about Sierra is that she doesn’t like to run. If she had a time machine, she would travel back to last week because she was in the Dominican Republic. Her hero is her dad, because he always fixes her car. After high school, Sierra plans to go to college for physical therapy.

 

Cole Hutchens is the son of Rob and Stacy Hutchens. He has one younger sister, Keira. Cole is involved in football, wrestling, track, student council, and FCA. His hobbies include fishing, playing poker, listening to music, watching Anthony Edwards drill some 3’s, and watching the Minnesota Vikings. His favorite memory from high school so far is winning the 2023 Gold Brick game in Janesville. One fun fact about Cole is that he is an Outer Banks fan and loves Sarah Cameron. If he had a time machine, he would travel to the future to see if the VIkings won any Super Bowls…There’s no way!  His hero is God, because, he says, “He has taught me to be the best version of myself.” After high school, Cole plans to make lots of money working at Aidan Schlaak’s Multi Million Dollar law firm.

 

Princess Leni Routh is the daughter of Adam and Missy Routh. She has three sisters, Lila, Lucy and Leia. Leni is involved in dance and gymnastics. She enjoys listening to Taylor Swift, art, dogs, playing Minecraft, and watching Paw Patrol. Her favorite memory from school so far is getting slushies from Lerberg’s in PreK. One fun fact about Leni is that one time on vacation, a dolphin gifted her a rock. If she had a time machine, she would go back to the past and play all day again. Leni’s hero is Mrs. Jensen her kindergarten teacher, because she is really nice. In her future, Leni wants to become a veterinarian.

 

Prince Beckett Budach is the son of Nick and Erin Budach. He has two siblings: Finly Budach and Reed Budach. Beckett is involved in wrestling, T-ball, Sunday School and football. His hobbies include swimming, farming, building blocks, riding bike and snowmobiling. Beckett’s favorite memory from kindergarten so far is eating cinnamon rolls in the cafeteria. One fun fact about Beckett is that he won the Ellendale Days tractor pull. If he had a time machine, he would travel to heaven to meet his sister Finly and see his dog Renna again. Beckett’s hero is his sister Finly. As for his future plans, Beckett plans to farm with his dad.

 

The princess and prince each received token gifts being part of the Homecoming royalty. The princess received a volleyball signed by the 2024 Panther Volleyball team. The prince received a football signed by the 2024 Panther football team.
