NRHEG’s new 4th grade teacher

Fourth grade teacher Lindsay Reisdorfer might be a familiar face; she came to know the community, students and staff at NRHEG School District when she began as a substitute teacher in the district two years ago. “During my time working here, I was welcomed warmly by both students and staff,” she says. “Easily, I saw one of the many things that makes the NRHEG district exceptional. It is a small town school district, where students, staff and community care deeply about the success and well being of everyone. I was fortunate to apply and be hired on permanently.”

 

Reisdorfer is from Mason City, Iowa, and attended both North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and University of Northern Iowa (UNI), graduating with a degree in elementary education and a literacy minor.

 

“My husband, Aaron, and I moved to Albert Lea in 2015 with our son, Hunter. Hunter is 11 years old now and our youngest son, Jackson, will soon be 7. Our family also consists of a playful German Shepherd named Rizzo and a sassy black cat named Jasper.” Reisdorfer taught full-time  in Albert Lea. “My first year there I taught fourth- and fifth-grade special education and an additional two years as a kindergarten teacher.”

 

When asked what her favorite part of teaching is, Reisdorfer replied, “Connections. One of my favorite things about teaching is facilitating connections. I enjoy leading student interactions that help drive academic success, building stronger social relationships and empowering students with skills that encourage life-long learning.” Reisdorfer says she hopes her students leave her classroom at the end of the year with inspiration and motivation to learn about the world and others around them.
