Elementary marathon is positive experience

The 2026 NRHEG Elementary Homecoming Grade-Level Marathon was a huge success!
Students from Bridges through fifth grade participated, with approximately 325 kids
taking part in the fun.

The goal of the marathon was simple: try your best and have fun! The run is an enjoyable Homecoming tradition that gives our elementary students a chance to celebrate and be
part of the excitement. The race winners also earned the exciting opportunity to ride on the Marathon Winners Homecoming float.

Each grade level ran a distance appropriate for their age: Bridges (pre-kindergarten), approximately 0.10 mile; Kindergarten and first grade, approximately 0.20 mile; second through fifth grade, approximately 0.50 mile.

The race kicked off with the Bridges class running together. For the remaining grade
levels, all of the boys ran first, followed by all of the girls.

We felt incredibly fortunate to have members of the cross country team lead and trail
each race. The high-schoolers were very encouraging to all of the elementary students, cheering them on and helping make the event a positive experience for everyone. Many teachers shared high praise for the cross country team and the encouragement they showed
throughout the races.

Winners of the 2026 grade-level marathons are Bridges, Kennedy Pederson, Chase Christensen; kindergarten, Lainey Perkins, Connor Holland; first grade, Ava Wagner, Rhys Christensen; second grade, June Braaten, Arlo Wacholz; third grade, Rylee Jensen, Knox Pederson; fourth grade, Ellie Olson, Easton Isder; fifth grade, Mya Misgen and Alex VanHal.
