New Richland Red Raiders see milestone season

The 2026 season marked an exciting milestone for Red Raiders New Richland Post 75 Legion Baseball, as the program fielded both Senior and Junior Legion teams for the first time. The season showcased the continued growth of baseball in the community and highlighted a promising future for the program.
 
The Junior Legion team finished the summer with a 3-8-1 record while continuing to develop throughout the season. The team earned key victories over Hayfield and St. Charles and played in the Rochester and St. Charles tournaments.
 
The Senior Legion team finished with a 7-6 record, earning notable wins over Blooming Prairie, Adams, and Lewiston-Altura. The Senior Legion finished 2nd in the St. Charles tournament and played in the Rochester tournament.
 
The Senior Legion team qualified for the league playoffs as the No. 6 seed out of 11 teams. In the opening round, Post 75 hosted Blooming Prairie and earned an impressive 8-2 victory to advance to the double-elimination bracket. The team's postseason run ended after a pair of hard-fought one-run losses, falling 6-5 to Caledonia and 5-4 to La Crescent.
 
With the successful launch of both Junior and Senior Legion teams, the 2026 season laid a strong foundation for the future of Red Raiders baseball. The growth of the program, along with the commitment of its players, coaches, families, and community supporters, points to a bright future for baseball in New Richland for years to come.
