Two Quad Cities baseball teams earn state berths

Two Quad Cities Baseball teams punched their tickets to the State Tournaments during local tournaments held June 5-7.
The Quad Cities 11A team competed in the 11A Burnsville Invitational and finished a perfect 4-0 on the weekend. The team opened with a 14-6 victory over Chanhassen Storm 11A Grey, followed with a 12-4 win against Bloomington Bandits 11A Red and a 13-4 victory over VAA Apple Valley Eagles 11A. Quad Cities capped off the tournament with a 10-6 win over New Prague 11A in the championship game.
The Quad Cities 13AA team competed in the 13AA tournament and posted a 3-0-1 record. The team defeated Waconia 10-0 in its opener, played Byron to a 6-6 tie, and earned an 11-1 win over Waconia before edging Byron 10-9 in the 13AA championship game.
The state tournaments will take place later this summer, where both teams will compete against top teams from across Minnesota.
