Cooler weather has brought some good fishing

The cool weather has been a welcome nicety. I don’t do well with hot and humid.

 

The fishing around the area has been pretty darned good if you ask my brother-in-law, Lynn. He has been catching fish all spring and summer. Walleye, northern, crappie. He has been doing a job. He should think about changing his name to Babe Winkleman, but alas, that name has already been taken.

 

I really can’t remember when the fishing in our area has been this good. I am not talking about just Fountain and Albert Lea Lakes, but also the lakes in the surrounding area. State Line, Pickerel, St. Olaf and Beaver all seem to have been producing fish. 

 

I have been dealing with a few health issues that have prevented me from exploring the many avenues of opportunity that are available.

 

I hope to get up north in the next week or so. I will have to limit my fishing to shore fishing for the time being. That is alright with me. Just being up north is my cure-all when it comes to my state of mind. Watching the sun rise and set and listening to the loons and trumpeter swans is food for the soul.

 

My tackle boxes are idling in the basement just waiting for a chance to contribute. The fishing poles are lined up, ready for action.

 

At the cabin, I can be a little more active by necessity, because there are things that will need to be done.
