Lorraine Cecelia Wallace, 91, of Geneva, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026 at the New Richland Care Center.
Born on June 16, 1934 in Wells, Minnesota, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes (Klocek) Koziolek. On May 6, 1953, Lorraine married Donald Wallace and together they built a loving home that created countless cherished memories. They instilled a strong work ethic and modeled that for their children. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother (Grandma Rain), and friend, known for her warmth, and kindness.
A talented cook and baker, she was renowned for her chocolate chip cookies, scotch-a-roos, and popcorn balls. Her talents extended beyond everyday cooking, as she took pride in making beautiful wedding, birthday, and graduation cakes for family and friends throughout the years. She spent many hours gardening and canning delicious foods, including pickles, spaghetti sauce, salsa, and peaches.
Lorraine also enjoyed playing Bingo. She always had to wear her lucky red shirt. Her greatest joy came from her family. Lorraine cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, creating lasting bonds with her loved ones. Her caring, nurturing heart was noticed by all. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Lorraine’s memory include her five children: Laureen and James Hohansee, Sharon and Jeff Lageson, Diane and Dave Broskoff, Dan and Barb Wallace, and Stacy and Shannon Wobschall; 15 grandchildren: Jayme, Jeanne, Candy, Krissy, Angie, Jenny, Travis, Jeremy, Mitchel, Spencer, Kyle, Lindsey, Courtney, Jordyn and Renae; 30 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family members; and countless friends.
In addition to her parents, Stanley and Agnes Koziolek, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wallace; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Lyle and Becky and Bob and Kathleen Wallace; siblings, James and Marvin Koziolek and Betty Gavle.
A funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Sacred Heart, 810 S. Cedar Ave., Owatonna with a visitation, which began at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial was held at Geneva Cemetery.
