Is it summer yet?

Since Christmas is now in the rearview mirror, it is time to move into the new year. Last year, I was lucky enough to welcome a great grandson, Krew. We also celebrated our great granddaughter Avery’s 2nd Birthday. I can remember the special feeling that I had when my sons were born. Then it was my grandsons and my granddaughters. Now I have been blessed to be able to be around to see my great grandchildren.

 

My great grandson, Krew, celebrated his first birthday the day before Christmas Eve. It was a special time spent with family.

 

I hope that everyone survived the first blizzard of the winter. I did find out one thing: it is the fact that my new bedroom window is not exactly windproof when the wind is blowing out of the northwest. I guess that a little window wrap is in order.

 

This is the time of year when I start to feel like I am coming down with a case of “cabin fever.” I know you might think that it is a little premature, but thinking about the cabin gives me hope. I usually try not to daydream until about the end of February. I still think about the great time that my son Brad and I had last spring fishing at a lake close to our cabin. The fish were very active and we had a blast. If I occasionally keep looking back at that time, I will maybe survive until spring.

 

We are planning another trip again next summer, and my oldest son Brian and I are also planning to make a trip to the cabin next summer.
