After 14 years driving school bus, Dale Agrimson is retiring from NRHEG. His plans are to move to Tennessee with his wife Pam to enjoy the beautiful climate and spend time soaking up the scenery on his motorcycle.
NRHEG says farewell to three long-tenured staff

The NRHEG years of service and retirement recognition program for the 2024-2025 school year took place on the last day of school, May 30, after students had departed. The gathering recognized milestones in the careers of school staff members. Emcee for the one-hour event was school superintendent Michael Meihak, who told everyone lightheartedly, “We’ve got a lot of names to get through so just clap whenever you want.”
Retirees at NRHEG included administrative assistant to the superintendent, Sue Kulseth, who has been in the role for the past 10 years.
Barb Hagen, State MARSS data coordinator and assistant to the guidance counselor and athletic director, retired in January after working for the district for 27 years. Hagen had prepared a few words for the occasion but assured everyone when she pointed to her speech, “It’s not this long I promise, it just looks like a lot.” After indicating a table in the front of the room where a large number of her family members was seated, she began, “I want to thank this table, my one-year-old granddaughter, my husband. Thanks to all of my family for being my motivator. Twenty-seven years in the counselor’s office, I’ve made all my lifelong friends here. I’ve watched three generations of students grow up and that cannot be replaced. I know I will miss you all, but I know I will miss the students most.”
Hagen, whose family is known for horsemanship, was given a cut metal sign that says “The Hagens” and shows two horses as a retirement gift.
Also retiring was bus driver Dale Agrimson, who served the district for 13 years. Agrimson was given a cut metal sign whose design included a motorcycle and his last name.
For thirty-five years in the district: Brad Root: industrial tech/physical education teacher. Mr. Root was quick to accept his award and exit.
For twenty years in the district: Brooke Krohn, school social worker. Kim Routh, paraprofessional.
For fifteen years in the district: Dorthy Brouwers, bus driver. Jennifer Hatton, science teacher. Sheri Howieson, Paraprofessional. Sara Ihrke, interventionist (k-2).
For ten years in the district: Corrine Schuller, payroll manager. Stacy Hutchens, community education. Sue Kulseth, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent.
For five years in the district: Loren Haroldson, paraprofessional. Elizabeth Nelson, preschool teacher. Grace Nelson, preschool teacher. Maryann Schlaak, paraprofessional.
Meihak said, “We have another award, the ‘Nobody Knows How Long he’s Been Here,’ award goes to Technology Specialist, Nathan Jensen.”
