Wynnemer seeks re-election to NR Council

Jody Wynnemer is seeking re-election to the New Richland City Council. Asked about his family and his age, Wynnemer responded, “Old Enough” and referenced his canine companion Barkley.

 

Wynnemer, an 18-year resident of New Richland, is a retired Navy Veteran and part-time gambling manager at the Waseca American Legion.

 

Wynnemer, a current council member, previously served on the council from 2009-’12 and has served on both the Planning and Zoning and Economic Development Boards in New Richland.  

 

What do you consider the most important part of this job?

 

“In these days of inflationary prices, trying to maintain city government and services without raising taxes and fees out of reach for city residents,” Wynnemer answered.

 

What particular strengths or experience do you bring to the position that you believe will help you do a good job?

 

“My experience serving on past city councils and what I have learned how government is funded helps me when making decisions,” Wynnemer continued.

 

What do you feel are the city’s most important concerns at this time?

 

“We need to bring more business and possible industry to town,” Wynnemer concluded. “Coupled with that is a serious shortage of adequate housing for potential residents. Since New Richland is surrounded by farm land which is very expensive, the task of finding places to expand is daunting.”
