Swenson seeks election to NR Council

Robert Swenson, 71, is new to New Richland, but not new to government and is seeking a position on the New Richland City Council.

 

Swenson is married to Lori Dahloff and is retired.

 

What do you consider the most important part of this job?

 

“Ensuring that the community receives full value for the tax dollars entrusted to the city,” Swenson answered.

 

What particular strengths or experience do you bring to the position that you believe will help you do a good job?

 

“In my position with the Office of the Secretary at the Federal Trade Commission, I was responsible for conducting data mining queries and presenting the results accurately,” Swenson continued. “Also, when I lived in St. Paul, I was associated with the West Side Community Organization and served in various roles for local Toastmasters clubs, including a stint as the Area 11 Governor.”

 

What do you feel are the city’s most important concerns at this time?

 

“Promoting and managing the city’s growth, while maintaining the identity of the community,” Swenson concluded.
