Snow week at a glance

Candidates for NRHEG snow week set for January 29 through February 3 are, for queen: Kyra Cain daughter of Jane and Robert Reese; Evelyn Nydegger daughter of Larry and Michele Nydegger; Erin Peterson daughter of Chris and Mandra Peterson; Elsie Schultz daughter of Matt and Emily Schultz; Malonna Wilson daughter of Becky & Richard Lassahn. Candidates for king: Parker Bunn son of David and Jennifer Bunn; Danny Deniz-Clark son of Tiffany Clark and Barrie MacConnell; Levin Kitzer son of Jeff and Amy Kitzer; Sam Olson son of Patrecia Olson; Reese Routh son of Travis and Lisa Routh.

 

Coronation will be Tuesday, January 30 at 2:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium in New Richland. The event will be open to the public, as well as 6th grade through 12th.

 

Winter coaches and others will speak, followed by the crowning of this year’s king and queen.

Different dress-up themes for students will take place beginning on the 29th with Pajama Day, followed by: Rhyme without Reason; Anything but a backpack/water bottle; Hawaiian Day; Class Color Day.

 

On Friday a champion and runner up will be chosen from the daily winners and receive a “BIG prize,” and a “big prize.”

 

Events conclude with a student dance from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Attire is “semi-formal” and students should enter through door 17E. Cost is $5 per couple or $3 individually. For guests from another school, they must complete paperwork picked up in the school office and turned in by the Friday before the dance.

Dress-up day - Rhyme without Reason

Snow Coronation: 2:30 - 3:05 p.m. in the HS gym

This event is open to all 6th -12th grade students and the community

Winter Coaches will speak:

Coach Larson - Wrestling, Coach Schmidt - Boys basketball, Coach Peterson - Girls basketball, Mrs. Pederson/Ms. Sunblad - One Act Play

Snow King and Snow Queen will be crowned.

7:15 p.m. - Boys Varsity Basketball @ Waseca

 

Wednesday, January 31

Dress-up day - Anything but a backpack/water bottle

High School bean bag tournament - 2nd through 7th hours

Talent Show (time TBD….maybe 2:15 p.m.)

 

Thursday, February 1

Dress-up day - Hawaiian Day

Game Show assembly

6:00 p.m. - JV/Varsity Wrestling @ HOME vs WEM/JWP

7:15 p.m. - Girls Varsity Basketball @ Triton

 

Friday, February 2

Dress-up day - Class Color Day

12 - pink, 11 - black, 10- blue, 9- purple, 8 - red, 7- orange, 6 - yellow, Staff - plaid

7:15 p.m. - Varsity Girls Basketball @ United South Central

Snow Court will be introduced before the game

7:15 p.m. - Varsity Boys Basketball @ HOME vs. United South Central

 

Saturday, February 3 -

10:00 a.m. Wrestling @ Maple River

1:30 p.m. High School Music Festival @ Maple River

Snow Dance in the HS gym, 8 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

$3 per single, $5 per couple

**If you are bringing a guest from another school, they must complete paperwork (pick up from our office) and get a signature from their principal. Must be turned in to the office on Friday before the dance.
