School related homecoming week activities

Monday was the first day of Homecoming week and the dress-up day was country vs country club. The first activities were hungry hippos and ships and sailors, but at first, it was only Homecoming Court. Then it was teachers and Homecoming Court. For ships and sailors, the Homecoming Court picked one girl and boy from each grade, and then it was whoever wanted to do it before class started. There was judging for the outfits at lunch. On Friday, there was a mock crash for kids in the high school. There were kids in the crash and multiple wearing signs from the ambulance. 

 

Tuesday, we had another assembly, and that activity was volleyball. So there were people who signed up to do the tournament. There were multiple different teams, but most of them were boys. After that, we just had a normal day besides seventh hour. I have Biology seventh hour and there was a volleyball game that the teacher had to leave for. So we did notes first, then a worksheet, then she left. We had Mr. Stork come watch us while there was 20 minutes left of class. But it was a simple worksheet and vocab for the rest of the time. 

 

Wednesday, the dress-up day was PJs, so everyone wore their pajamas. There was also another assembly; the games were based on the Hunger Games. So tug of war, there was one where you grab a dodgeball before another person and find a certain card that’s scattered on the ground. During tug of war, all grades had to go against someone else. But they were all randomly picked, so the sixth grade had to go against the 12th grade, which was really funny. Then the teachers went up against the tenth graders and on the second time, the teachers just let go and all the tenth graders fell and someone even rolled over.

 

Thursday’s dress-up day was class colors; sophomores are purple. So everyone who wants to has to dress up in purple clothes and have purple accessories. And during lunch, they take pictures of each grade and whoever has the most wins points toward the hunger game points. The activity today is rock paper scissors, so everyone gets one beaded necklace. And if someone challenges you, you play rock paper scissors and whoever wins gets the other person's beads. You have to give them all the beads, no matter what. Whoever has the most beads goes against each other and whoever wins gets points toward their grade for Hunger Games.
