Schoenrock one of three NRHEG school board candidates

Loren Schoenrock, 70, is a current NRHEG school board member seeking re-election. He is a lifelong resident of the NRHEG area. His family includes his wife Marlene, children Leah and her husband Ryan; son Chad and his wife Jena. The Schoenrocks’ have six grandchildren.

 

Schoenrock has served on the school board for the past four years, and currently serves as the vice chairmen, serves on the finance, policy, building and grounds and paraprofessional committees. He has served as a township clerk since 1996, and also served on his local church council in all capacities including chairman.

 

“I believe the most important job is to educate the students of our district,” Schoenrock said. “With enrollment dropping slightly, it’s a challenge to provide the most class offerings while remaining fiscally responsible to our taxpayers.”

 

A farmer, Schoenrock believes owning and operating a farm his entire adult life has “given me the business experience that can be applied to our school district.

 

“While our vision statement says, 'To be the district of choice, inspiring excellence in academics, arts and activities,' it’s also important to remember we also bear a responsibility to our taxpayers,” Schoenrock concluded.
