NRHEG Fall Sports Banquet

Hundreds of students, staff, parents, and families attended the NRHEG Fall Sports Banquet held Thursday evening, Nov. 7 in the high school gymnasium.

 

As is traditional, Athletic Director Dan Stork thanked the many people behind the scenes who make sporting events possible at NRHEG: staff, bus drivers, pep band, cheerleaders, parents, student athletes, coaches, and many more.

 

“Athletes, please know that your commitment to your team and the school community does not go unnoticed,” Stork said. “It’s not easy to get out of bed at 6 a.m. on a nice summer day, so that you can get a lift in before work. It’s not easy to run literally hundreds of miles in the offseason, so you can be ready for the meets you will run in the fall. It’s not easy to put in all the extra time that you do.

 

“Thank you so much for your hard work and commitment,” Stork concluded. “My hope is that you will carry that same drive with you after you leave NRHEG.”

 

With that, Stork introduced the various coaches and players of NRHEG. Articles recapping every team's season and end-of-season awards can be found on Pages 6 and 7 of this week’s Star Eagle.

 

The program concluded a little after 8 p.m. Letter winners collected their pins and letters and just about everyone stuck around for another half hour for photos and good conversation.

 

In total, 16 senior athletes were celebrate on the evening: Mallory Schlinger, Aspyn Stenzel, Sierra Misgen, Owen Bartlett, Alden Dobberstein, Jace Ihrke, Jase Knudson, Carter Martens, Aidan Schlaak, Logan Schiell, Cole Hutchens, Jayden Flemming, Gavin Sletten, Seth Staloch, Harbor Cromwell and Aden Hanna.
