Man dies following shooting

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office said a man is dead following a shooting in rural Alden Wednesday evening. The sheriff’s office said it responded to the shooting at 5:12 p.m., following a “disturbance.”

 

Authorities say once they arrived, they found a 45-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to the chest. The man was subsequently transported to Alden where he was stabilized before being transported by Mayo Air to Rochester.

 

This man would die from his injuries a couple hours later, according to police.

 

Another man, as well as a woman, who both reportedly reside at the same residence, were transported by ground ambulance. However, authorities say their injuries are non-life-threatening.

 

The sheriff’s office said a man was detained for questioning before being released.

Authorities added the four adults involved in the incident are related, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

 

The identities of those involved have not been released at this time.
