Hungry Hippos kicks of homecoming week

Today I will be writing about our week of Homecoming. To begin our week, we had the Homecoming Court participate in hungry hippos, which was very fun and funny to watch. We got to dress up as either country or country club. For our second day, the dress-up day was Hawaiian day and for our event, we got to do our high school volleyball tournament. I created a team that I coached. My players were Chase Ingalls, Hunter McMann, Dylan Schroht, Corey Seedorf, Lincoln Quade, Khaiden Madson, Kailin Hudson, Korbin Johnson, and Shane Service. During the first game of the tournament, we got a bye, so we got to watch all of the teams play. When the second game came around, we had to play the seniors and they beat the team pretty badly. The third game we played against the juniors, who would go on to win the whole tournament. On the third day of Homecoming, it was pajama day, and for our assembly, we got to play ships and sailors. For the fourth day of Homecoming, our dress-up day was color wars. Freshmen were gray, sophomores were purple, juniors were blue, and seniors were pink. The grade winners for color wars were the freshmen. We didn't have an assembly on this day, but we had an all-day rock paper scissors tournament, which I got first place in. Jase Knudson got second and Braylon Carlson got third place. At 1:30, all of the fall sports teams went to Blooming Prairie to watch our girls' varsity volleyball team play. Our team won the first and third sets, giving us the win. On Friday, we all dressed up in Panther attire and the football team wore jerseys. Throughout Friday, we had many events to participate in, from foursquare to kickball or the beanbag tournament. I chose to play board games in senior class because it was hot outside. After the activities wrapped up, we all went to the parade. The football players all got onto the fire truck and we went and waved to all of the students and parents. After school was over, we went to Alden Dobberstein’s house to have our pre-game meal, which was pepper chicken. After our team meal, we had to get ready for our game. We played against Medford and we won 43-8. After the game, everybody got ready for the dance and everybody had a fun time. Overall, Homecoming was super fun this year.
