Hartland Steak Feed returns

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since the Hartland Fire Department held its annual steak feed.

Fortunately, that changes this weekend.

With steaks supplied by Neighbors Meats, spring salad and potato salad by Superior Catering of Ellendale and much, much more, the Hartland Fire Department Annual Steak feed returns this Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at their new location 513 Broadway Street in Hartland.

Delicious side dishes at the feed will include pull-apart bread from Hy-Vee in Albert Lea, assorted bars from local bakers, sweet corn, and lemonade.

“A lot has changed since our last one,” Hartland Fire Chief Gage Flatness told the Star Eagle. “The last one was in September 2021, and then the tornado hit in December. The Community Center became the post office, so we just didn’t have a place to hold our steak feed.

“We're finally able to bring it back! We’re especially excited that this will be our first steak feed in the new Community Center. We’ve missed getting everyone together for a steak, some sweet corn, and a good night with friends and neighbors!”

The entire fire department will be on hand for this tremendous event. All folks are encouraged to attend and donate; the cost is a free will donation. Takeouts are also available. To go orders can be placed on Sept. 19 between 5 and 7 p.m. by calling 507-845-2469.
