Grateful for the shortened classes, many activities

On September 25th, there was an assembly in the high school gym. Basically, the whole school and staff were there. There were a bunch of activities, some sorted by different grade levels, freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. It started off announcing the Homecoming King and Queen, then they got the microphone and talked and told us to have fun. For one of the activities, there was a ball on the centerline of the gymnasium. There would be 2 people running to get the ball. There was also a line they had to stay behind. If they ran and stepped over the line they would not get the point. The goal of the game was to get the ball back to your other side and not get caught. If you did get caught, the other team would have got the point. There were teams of staff, sophomores, freshmen, juniors, seniors, and more. For another activity, there were decks of cards that Cole and the student council kids threw on the floor and scattered around. What would happen with these is somebody would call out a random card and the contestants would have to find one of the random cards that were on the gym floor. Our grade’s representative for the card game was Colton, and he did pretty good for a while.  Harbor was one of the contestants who almost made it to the end but ended up losing. Then there was a tug of war for the school. There were once again groups separated by grade. Everyone represented their grade really well and it was fun to watch. Definitely some really good teams this year. I did not expect the 9th grade to do so well during the tug of war. 

 

The reason we had this assembly was to celebrate homecoming. I feel the assembly also celebrated the school and the seniors, who are going to graduate this year, and it was a thank you for everything during the years. I also feel it celebrated the staff a little bit by thanking them for what they do for the school and thanking them to help graduate the seniors. It honestly was one of the more fun assemblies for school that I have gone to. The school gym was a good place to do it because it had all the things they needed to actually do the school assembly. Overall, it was a very fun assembly and they did a good job planning it, and I was grateful for the shortened classes.
