EMS launches recruitment program

MANKATO, MN – The South Central Minnesota EMS has launched a volunteer recruitment campaign in hopes of filling a significant need for emergency medical providers. The South Central Minnesota EMS supports emergency responder agencies in a nine-county region of Southern Minnesota and is looking for individuals to fill a variety of emergency medical provider roles, including ambulance drivers, first responders, EMTs and more.

 

South Central Minnesota EMS Executive Director Mark Griffith said, “In addition to providing education and training to ambulance, fire, and law enforcement agencies in Southern Minnesota, we also help recruit new volunteers to serve those agencies. Right now, there is a need in our region for more volunteers. Most of our medical providers volunteer in their spare time, apart from their full-time jobs. But there are paid, full-time positions available as well. It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community in a very rewarding way. And the need is great.”

 

Positions are available in Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca, and Watonwan counties. Emergency medical providers can be paid volunteers. And there are opportunities for full- and part-time employment. Training and education are required, however tuition reimbursement, up to 100 percent, is available.
