The Federal Emergency Management Agency has set up a disaster relief center in the Waseca municipal safety building at 303 S. State Street. About a dozen representatives are available to help homeowners and renters who experienced losses during the storms and flooding that occurred in the county between June 19 and July 4 as they apply for grants to help cover the cost of repairs and reconstruction.The relief center will be open through September 27: hours are from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. No appointment is needed. Disaster relief funds can also be requested online.

FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Centers opened Friday, September 13 and will remain open through Friday, September 27, 2024 in Waseca to help residents kick-start their recovery after the severe storms and flooding of June 16 – July 4. The center will be closed Saturday for the Waseca Marching Classic.
Specialists from FEMA, the state of Minnesota and the U.S. Small Business Administration will be at the centers to help survivors apply for federal disaster assistance, upload documents, get their questions answered in person, access other types of help that may be available and learn ways to make their property more disaster resistant.
The center will be open at the Waseca Public Safety Center, 303 S. State St., Waseca Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Closed on Sunday. The center will close permanently Friday, September 27, 2024.

Disaster survivors who have not yet applied for FEMA assistance should apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, use the FEMA App on your phone, visit a Disaster Recovery Center or call 800-621-3362. If you use a relay service such as video relay service, captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA your number for that service when you apply.
