Cromwell joins administrative staff

Nikki Cromwell, a resident of Geneva, is the new administrative assistant in the NRHEG  secondary building, replacing Teri Kormann upon her retirement. Cromwell is married to Michael Pederson and has two “awesome” kids: senior Harbor and Winter, who will be a junior.  “We have a four-year-old Rottweiler named Luna and one cat named Cat.”

 

Cromwell has a degree in massage therapy from the Minnesota School of Business in Rochester and has been a massage therapist on and off part time and full time for 18 years.

 

When asked why she applied to NRHEG, Cromwell replied, “I actually was a special education para in Ellendale for six years while my kids went to school there, so I am very familiar with the staff and students. As I was working in the concession stand last winter during a basketball game, I realized how much I missed being around the kids and staff and all of the energy they gave me. I found out Teri was retiring and it was a light bulb moment. I had to apply for her position!”

 

Cromwell claims everyone knows she is a ‘people’ person; she believes the interactions with all of the students and staff will be her favorite part of the job, “and the fact that I will get to see my kids in their school environment again,” she adds.

 

When not at school, Cromwell has a wide variety of interests and activities. “I am really into reading,” said Cromwell, “especially fiction. If someone has read the same book as me and it is one that I love, I could talk forever about it. Also anything health related, like lifting weights, eating a certain way, natural alternatives….I am very into those conversations.”  

 

Cromwell says she also loves going to comedy shows, camping, kayaking, and hiking. Anything else? “Fun fact: I worked on a commercial fishing boat in Alaska for two summers after high school. I was a deckhand and caught salmon and shrimp. Hardest job I have ever had, hands down, and I would do it again.”
