Annual fastpitch softball gathering

Once again a great group for former fastpitch softball players gathered for a reunion to reminisce about those good old days on the softball fields here in Southern Minnesota. This year the event was held at the Geneva Bar & Grill on Thursday afternoon, September 10.

Terry Peterson organized the event this year and a total of 26 Fastpitch Softball Players, along with four spouses, gathered to reminisce about the days they played fastpitch on the softball fields here in Southern Minnesota.

Among those in attendance were Terry Peterson, Hank Thompson, Bill (Jane) Disher, Tony Anderson, Scott Christensen, Steve Christensen, Dan Richards, Daryl (Kathy) Paulsen, DeWayne Jensen, Charlie Kjos, Gus (Julie) Currier, Brian Muri, Allen Lee, Lloyd Kaplan, Clete (Sharon) Glynn, Eldon Kath, Al Krietz, Don Overlie, Steve McCamy, Jim Burmeister, Jim Beech, Fritz Kendrick, Kurt Erickon, Steve Roth, Marlin Kath, Fred Kinsche, Bruce Jensen and three of the former Kath Brothers ballplayers.

The Geneva Bar & Grill was more than happy to provide a place for the fastpitch softball players to gather, and served up a great assortment of food and refreshments for the ballplayers to enjoy.

Terry Peterson shared a few of his memories from his many years on the softball field, which I am sure also got many of the other softball players thinking of many other stories that had developed over the years while the players were playing softball here in Southern Minnesota.

It is hoped that when many of the fastpitch players hear about some of the former players who have attended, and the memories shared at past softball parties, they too will want to come and renew old friendships, and favorite stories at the next reunion here in southern Minnesota.
