‘No hands so small they can’t make a difference’

The cancer story that sent to the paper got a bit long last week so a few items were deleted,  but I feel that they do need to be added, as well as corrected.

 

We are glad to report that the 2nd weekend of the Geneva Cancer Auction had all three of our local auctioneers, Tracy Holland, Jim Manges and Jamie Hagen at the auction as well as Johnny Kraling from Blooming Prairie.

 

One of the items, a gift basket, that had been donated last week in memory of Finly Budach had not been included in the story,  Finly was only 7 years old when she passed away and is remembered during the Geneva auction each year.

 

Also the large Jean quilt that had been made and given in Steve Quams’ memory was made by Steve’s sister-in-law, Nancy Hutchins.

 

We are very pleased to inform our readers that Tony Foster had donated three pieces of metal art that he had made to this years' auction including one in the shape of our American Flag, another a metal saw and another one represented the sport of golf.  

 

The Vikings jersey that was auctioned had been signed by Eric Kendrick and the members of the top Ranch Rodeo team this year were presented belt buckles this year, not all the winners as previously reported.

 

The 2 airplane rides were donated by D.J. Jones, not D.J. Burns as previously stated and the mission of the annual Motorcycle run is to help people out with funds that they might need during their treatments, for gas and food etc.

 

We are proud to say that Roger Swearingens' son, Ross remembered Roger this year and donated a fully cooked ham from Steve's

 

Meat Market, a grilling basket from Neighbors' in New Richland, a gift certificate to Deans' Smoke Shack, as well as a $150. gas card to Krause's in Hope,  

 

Only 2 of the 10 autographed baseballs that had been donated by Steve Pence who once lived here in our area.  Steve felt it was important to also help with the fundraiser here in Geneva and wanted to donate to the auction this year as well.  The remainder of the baseballs will be auctioned in April when the weather conditions should be much improved.

We are thankful that many business from our area also continue to do what they can to support the Cancer Fundraising activities each year, as well as appreciate all the help that people from our area continue to do during the many cancer fundraisers that are held each year.
