Driving old cars through the United States

Genie and I drive older cars. Hers is a 2006 HHR Chevrolet and mine is a 2012 HHR Chevrolet. The HHR Chevrolets have been very good cars as far as we are concerned. Both vehicles get 25-30 miles per gallon of gas with a lower than new vehicle insurance premium. 

 

Would we recommend the Chevrolet car? Based on our experience - the answer is most certainly “yes.” 

 

In our drives through the United States and Canada, we have noticed the color trend of new cars is red, black or white being the majority color. To us the most beautiful car is the Kia. For the same reason it looks like a space machine. (We are both convinced the car must have, I repeat must have, a person behind the wheel!

 

In growing old as a Norwegian Veteran; I've seen a lot of changes, for example; most families living in town have a pet or two; it used to be only the family living outside of town had a pet. The pet was almost always a dog. Now, the pet dog or cat numbers are almost the same.

 

There wasn't a license needed to have a pet; now a license is needed to have a pet in town-in some cases a license is needed if you have a pet while living on a lake or in a township. 

 

Of course the pet must have certain shots in some locations. According to where the license is issued.

 

It used to be Coors Beer was only for sale in certain western states and not in Minnesota; now it's for sale in Minnesota.

 

(The well-known Schlith Beer is no longer being brewed.) I bought a six pack for memories!!

How about all the changes in baseball over the last 25 years? The use of electronics to help an umpire is unreal.

 

When was the last time you compared what the ball player used to play in as part of his equipment versus the same equipment 20 years ago? Unreal!!

 

Did you know the definition of a baseball fan has changed to?? A person with the ability to sit 500 feet from home plate and see better than an umpire standing five feet from it. 

 

As long as I'm comparing, why not compare wearing apparel now today versus about 30 years ago. This is really mind boggling.

 

It seems the present day youth are imitating the wearing of many of their parents and grandparents styles. 

 

In summary comparison, I'm concerned about the use of drugs, the importance of God and church involvement in their lives going the wrong way.
